Georgio - needs regular transfusions
Georgio is five years old and loves Thomas the Tank Engine. Most of the time he looks like the picture of health enjoying rough-and-tumble with his friends, but he actually has a blood disorder called thalassaemia major. It's an inherited disorder that affects the production of haemoglobin in blood which carries oxygen throughout the body.
A message to donors from Georgio's mum, Stella: "I just want to say a big thank to all blood donors because if it wasn't for them I wouldn't have my five year old tearaway, Georgio."
